Columbian Gold has been around for decades. In my younger days, Thai Stick, Acapulco Gold, Columbia, Durban Poision. The Columbian Gold was before in the early 70’s when we started seeing the Sensimilla word and everybody oh this is Sensimilla this Sensimilla that like it was a new strain which it was NOT, it was simply growing females that didn’t produce seeds within the buds.
The seeds we found were from a trusted source. Seeds we know weren’t contaminated with other species. The seeds were from “World Of Seeds,” (*Review in progress When reviews page is put up) We started germination with the closed test tube method with 5 seeds (*See Germination Page) 5 seeds popped tails and gently placed seeds in dirt with tweezers tail down. All were put in 5 solo cups, and all 5 popped through the dirt.
This strain is SUPER EASY to grow. it didn’t take allot nutrients authough using Jack’s Classic 20-20-20 fertilizer and boy did these girls take off I used 5 of 20 seeds. Now , at fault, being sick, one of my PPP’s was a male I was sick and yet they were watered from my wife, but she didn’t notice a PPP (Pure Power Plant male) had bananas so u ended up with (PPP/Columbia Gold)(PPP/Limon Blonco v1)(Thai Stick / PPP) WITH THIS MISTAKE was actually a blessing despite the accedental crossing.
The “Super Sativa” I’ve always wanted to create is actually laid right in my lap, but Limon Blonco V1 is an Indica which those seeds will be put aside in case I want to come back to it. But I do have viable cross seeds of Limon Blonco v1 for maybe a later development BUT Thai-Pure Power Plant V1 & Columbia x PPP Gold V1 and will continue to develop these strains.
The assumption is that if a plant spends so much time sending nutrients to producing seeds instead of Tricombs and THC, I disagree. If someone spends time with rabbit manure or Jack’s Classic all purpose 20-20-20 and a week before going to 12/12 light and switch to Jack’s Classic 10-30-20 and one week from harvest flush, flush, flush.
The Columbian Gold / PPP V1 seeds were germinated and planted. But after breaking down the buds using a tray at a 45° angle using a card to move vegetation up, it recovered 2,300+ seeds and 1¾ ounces of what I call shake using all the bud material and sugar leaves minus the seeds.
So, spotlighting the strain for December, we chose this old time Classic we call hippie weed, definitely old school. Usually clocking in at 18% THC, and they claim seeds will drop considerably, but I don’t buy that.
I usually take a single hitter like the picture on this post. I will take 3 full hits and can be measured to give me a more realistic review.
Germinating in plastic test tubes with caps, each tube held 5 seeds each out of 5 in one tube. 5 seeds in the other. 5 germinated in tube #1 and tube 2 had 4 germinate.
Planting in red solo cups in common potting soil with tap roots down and after getting in the dirt you water gently in order to “water in” this keeps any air bubbles around the root. any air will kill the plants.
These plants grew super fast and tall at a min of 6ft. Watering was simple and almost carefree. Just before switching to 12/12, the buds grew fast, yet over 2,300+ seeds, they germinate with no issues. So drying took 16 days, then curing in Jars about 9 days before breaking down the buds. so im thinking people talking about buds producing loosing 10% of its tricombs and THC.
I am going to make notes here that I tell no difference than smoking in mid 70’s when “Sensimilla” (no seeds). I’m sorry, I don’t see it I got just as high as I did in the days of smoking back in the day. SURE some may think 18% isn’t great.

This strain EVEN with those who call it hippie weed, That it may be, but if dried and cured properly has allot of properties. There are not allot of weed that smoke so smooth, newer smokers can inhale without a coughing fit.
At 57 years old I favor this strain over most.
